I received a combined B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering and B.Sc. degree in computer science from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, in 2006, and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at The University of Sydney, Sydney, Australia. I am currently an IAS Junior Fellow and Research Assistant Professor at HKUST.

My research interest is in applying statistical tools to analyze big data and wireless communication systems. My recent work involved (i) applying statistical tools on HIV sequence data to infer the fitness landscape for gp160, the protein in HIV which is the target of antibodies, and (ii) developing a fast and accurate maximum a posteriori probability estimator to infer evolutionary parameters from time-series sequence data. I am also interested in applying statistical tools to analyze and design various wireless networks, including cognitive radio, ad hoc, and relaying networks.
